69 Days to Go, Weight Update

Current weight 203 = 7 pounds lost, 23 to go to reach Vegas goal.

Don't be alarmed by this number, my experience with dieting or changing my eating habits always offers the same results; I lose the first 10-15 pounds VERY quickly and then slow to a more reasonable 3 pounds a week.

I'm not alarmed by the number at all - It's been my experience, too, that the first week or two I lose quickly as well. Although my "fast" seems to be closer to your "reasonable" lol. Out of curiosity, are you following any sort of system or plan at all? Weight Watchers? Jenny Craig? Just wondering.

Anyway, bottom line is the one thing you should be really proud of is that you've been on this for a week now and you've stuck with it and one week and 7 lbs are now in your past instead of ahead of you! :)

When I first started this months ago, I simply figured out how many calories my body burnt on an average day (my BMR and AMR) and then let the math rule. It takes approximately 3500 burned calories to lose one pound of fat.

My AMR indicates I burn around 3700 calories a day, I try to consume around 1200 calories a day (the least amount you should go per a dietician). So that leaves me with 2500 calories burnt a day. In a week that means I should burn (if all goes well) 17,500 calories = 5 pounds lost per week. Some weeks I lose more, some less.

I don't follow a "diet", I let the math lead my choices.
